Hi, they should be ok. The only time I'd be concerned is if they were stored where it gets hot or damp. Love to help out with the processing.

Hi Jim,
Not at all, I sincerely believe the AIPP do not represent all professional photographers. But they should.
We need to get together to promote professionalism as well as act professionally. Yes it is a big statement, and I have copped a lot of flack for it, but it is really hard to say to one of our clients who doesn't quite cut the grade "No" you are not good enough. It is easier to use an industry body who are trying to set standards independently of any commercial interests.

"There has been 1 major rule change for this the 2012 competition, entrants must be an 2011-2012 accredited AIPP member. This is to assist us in assessing the entrants professionalism."

Are you suggesting people not part of the AIPP are not professional??? Its a pretty big statement for a photographic retailer to make??

I agree Victoria.
We have had a lot of trouble in the past rating the applicants, to the extent that we gave up and let people enter whom I would not recommend. Who am I to reject a customer's work...I could not afford to. This collection of entrants are the people we want to be able to recommend to brides and grooms.
So we needed a standard, we want to support a professional industry body who is actively working on standards. I do not believe the AIPP has standards sorted yet, but they are trying, and with the industry's support it will happen.
I expect I am disappointing a lot of people with this decision, I may even lose customers over it, but the professional industry will only blossom with a professional body promoting standards. Any more of the fragmenting that happened in the past is only confusing to clients. One standard is what we need to communicate.
Thank you for commenting Victoria.
