All of our frames are made on premesis, the mount boards and matte boards are ph-neutral for archival life. All of our frames are glazed with acrylic.
We have been glazing with acrylic since 2006, we have frames hanging in in the National Gallery in Canberra, in the South Australian Museum and art galleries around Australia, it is widely accepted as a safe high quality product. These are our reasons for using acrylic instead of glass:
- many glasses bias the image colour, commonly to green, the acrylic we use is neutral so your images will have their colour altered.
- our arcylic offers UV blocking as standard, UV inhibiting glass is much more expensive. UV light will cause your images to fade quicker.
- glass is dangerous, particularly for transport. Acrylic is lighter and flexes so it will absorb impact.
