I went to the opening last night and was whipped away to another world and time, although some of these works are very contemporary, they are quite alien to us Australians. Many are great images of Americana.
I fell in love with an image of a 50’s ponitac parked out front of a ‘wig wam’ motel, it was printed using a platinum print process, it was magnificent. By the time I got the courage to buy it, it was hit with a sold sticker….
Please go along to this show, this is iconography at it’s best and most “reachable”.
