Atkins Photo Lab, established in 1936, dedicated to processing film with unparalleled quality since the start. We offer the highest standards in color correction, processing, and scanning.

Process

Our professionally sought-after Dip and Dunk machine is used for Colour Negative film, while all of our Black and White film is meticulously processed by hand, ensuring the most controlled and desirable results. 35mm, 120, 5x4”, 8x10” and more. Process Only available.

Scans

Once processed, 35mm and 120 film is scanned by our skilled operators on our Noritsu or Frontier scanner. For details on scan sizes and file options, please refer to the next section on this page. If you are wanting to scan film that is not processed by us or enquire about having film scanned that is larger than the standard formats please contact us for a quote.

Color correction

After scanning is complete your files are moved to our color correction stations where our highly trained technicians correct each frame to ensure the most even results.

Archival Sleeving

We place your finished processed negatives in high quality, museum standard archival sleeving for storage. Prepared to for sleeving matching your selection of either Cut and Sleeve or Do Not Cut.

“Spotting” / Dust removal

We use professional lab-standard scanners equipped with Digital ICE technology. This advanced system effectively spots your C41 / color negative film by using both physical and digital methods to automatically remove or reduce imperfections like dust and scratches. However, Digital ICE was not designed for scanning black-and-white film. For these, we put in the extra effort to manually remove major spots. If you have particularly troublesome film (perhaps stored in less-than-ideal conditions) that requires more extensive spot removal, we can provide a custom quote for additional restoration work.
