Yes, we can push film!
Pushing involves processing film for a longer than it’s recommended developing time, this technique increases the intended ISO of the film. As a result, the image appears brighter, but has its caveats with increased grain, contrast and the risk of overexposure if the film wasn’t prepared with push processing in mind.
* Pull processing only available with Black and White processing. -
This type of processor is quite a different machine from the ones commonly used in department stores and still found in many labs today. It handles your film with minimal contact making it ideal for profession film development reducing the risk of scratches
The machine itself is very large and operates inside its own dedicated darkroom, in perfect darkness. Film is loaded onto a rack then the rack is set in a specific window of time, a gantry lifts the rack up, moves it forward one position then gently lowers your film to progress it forward with a series of motors, lifts and pulleys. -
We use scanners that have a system called ICE installed. This means for colour film scans the dust spots are automatically removed. However, the software was not designed for black and white scanning in mind so we have endeavoured to ensure that black and white scanning includes manual removal of major spots. If you wish to have full spotting of files we can arrange a quote.
