Exposing Birth.

Of all the things we are involved with, this has made such a difference to a section of society and our industry. I’m talking about the practise of photographing a birth, and these pictures being celebrated widely. Birth has been photographed since the beginning of photography, but it is the interest in it that has spread widely in the past 5-10 years. While the AIPP did a good job of welcoming the genre to their awards process, it has been Lacey Barrett and her Birth Photographer of the Year awards that has made the most recent, giant strides.

We have supported these as a sponsor from the beginning, I have also been a judge and panel chair of judges. It’s been a privilege.

This past Sunday morning, the awards ceremony was held as a live streamed online-only, event. The culmination of this year’s international competition.

There is a picture below to watch the recored event, where you will see me be an attempted co-host!

We want to congratulate the all of the entrants, but particularly the finalists;
