Price rise and our reasoning
You may have noted that we’ve had a rise on July 1st this year. We do understand how this puts pressure on all of our customers, and it can feel relentless, as relentless as all the difficult news out there.
Around five years ago, during the horror show of COVID, we had been avoiding changing our price. From memory we went into COVID thinking they needed to be changed, but we couldn’t now the disease was running wild. Would any business survive a pandemic we asked ourselves?
What I am trying to say is we kept putting off the price rise, and with every delay, it became more difficult. No longer was it going to be a small rise, it had grown into a monster, with some products needing a 30% rise….
This was an awful time, we had to reach for the resolve to make these changes, fearful of the effect on clients. We probably lost a few, and we did put pressure on everyone else, but we needed to stay in business.
We now plan to change prices each July, and do it subtley and only where needed. This July it averaged 4%,
I’d encourage all of you to do the same. Plan for it each year. There is no point in being business just for keeping busy.
