Seniors’ Card, Through The Lens, 2026

This year’s competition and exhibition was stellar many ways. with a slight shake up of the judges, and a new partnership with the South Australian Photographic Federation, and a great exhibition launch venue, it went swimmingly.

Each year we gift 10 framed prints that are made from over 800 submitted images submitted by Seniors’ Card holders here in SA. We also host and chair the judging. Thankfully the Seniors Card team at SA Health provide an initial cull, as the judging took over 4 hours this year!

The winning images are marvellous, judging is focussed towards showing accessible images of seniors engaged in a full life. Check out the winners and images from the event in the gallery below.

Leafy seadragon taken at Edithburgh, South Australia on an overcast summer afternoon. The 60mm macroo lens on OMD EM1 Mk II allowed me to keep distance and wait until his was facing me before taking the shot. Radial gradient filters used in post processing to highlight the face whilst darkening the edges of the frame.
