New Zealand!

I was thrilled to be asked to present at the Mountain Muse Retreat run by Shae Estella Photo and Tom judson Photography.

The retreat was run just out of Queenstown New Zealand at a fabulous hideaway on the side of a hill overlooking Lake Hayes. Shae and Tom were supported by Si Moore and Leslie Vegas, and ourselves.

A small group of attendees enjoyed three days together shooting, discussing, helicopter riding and generally enjoying the camaraderie when learning together.

I was welcomed on the retreat’s last day, and spoke about integrating products into their businesses, pricing and why print is so important.

One the Wednesday Evening, Si Moore and I slipped away for some fly fishing and general phhilosophy. Si had taken me fishing in the North Island 7 years before, so this was a long awaited catch up. We also met with Emily Adamson at her farm to have dinner and talk further about our industry (and her goats). Si and I fished again on the Thursday morning to continue the conversation.

The rest of my stay around Queenstown involved a meet up with in a local cafe (thank you Joe’s Garage!) where 6 photographers called in one the afternoon, and some touring around the region in my hire car. Wow, what a place!
