Which file format should I upload?

Short

A high quality .jpeg is the best

Long

A high quality .jpeg file is perfect for 99% of applications. We’ve been working with jpegs since the mid 1990s and the only times they have impeded the print quality are in the below two exceptions. When there is the need to do a massive enlargement of your image file, and we have to upsize (interpolate) and add in lots of extra pixels to meet the print resolution, we can get a better result starting from a TIFF or RAW camera file. If you’re worried about the amount of upsizing that needs to be done for your print, contact us.

If you need us to ‘rescue’ your file with heavy brightness or colour correction, we may ask for your RAW camera file, or a high (16) bit TIFF file. These files have a much greater head room for colour and detail editing.
